Here’s something a little different and a bit astonishing • Researchers have been exploring the Phoenix Islands Archipelago, also known as Rawaki.
On one dive in particular, the team spotted an extremely rare, clear animal known as a glass octopus. The octopus was spotted at 651 meters (2132 feet) at a seamount in the Winslow reef complex on Tokelau Ridge. They’re not a huge creature, reaching 18 inches from tip of the mantle to the tips of the tentacles. It’s one of the least studied cephalopods in the world.
Same thing happened in my city. Ironically, it was a white asshole kid - I’m guessing one of the Anarchists who happily show up to any conflict - and it was two black protestors who stopped him and took away the skateboard he was about to lay out against the back of the officer’s head. Yeah, that “Police Lives Matter!” chant from the Nazis is cruel and ironic at this point.
